North Guana Outpost is an outfitter store specializing in equipment and clothing geared towards outsiders that enjoy water related activities, thus our slogan “Outfitter for Outsiders”.  NGO is uniquely located at the north end of the Guana River Wildlife Management Area.  This WMA is part of the Guana Tolomato Matanza National Estuarine Research Reserve located between Jacksonville and St. Augustine, FL.

NGO’s location at 4415 Mickler Rd. offers direct access to the Guana River, is a short walk to the beach at Mickler’s Landing and is approximately two miles from the Intracoastal Waterway.  This geographical threesome is only found in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and NGO is uniquely positioned to take advantage of these recreational opportunities.

Many of the Ponte Vedra and Palm Valley residence remember Gene Leary’s Oar House.  Back in the day one could go to the Oar House with their shot gun, have a beer and participate in a turkey shoot right out the back door … that kind of freedom just boggles the mind today.  The restaurant and watering hole conjures up fond memories for many and we have tried to preserve as many bits and pieces of its history as we could.  After the Oar House the younger generation was treated to a surf shop and skateboard park for a few years.  Even though the surf shop is gone we hope NGO fills that void and more.

To help our “Outsiders” better enjoy the surrounding resources, NGO offers equipment for sale or rent to immerse you in the north Guana environment.  Kayaks, standup paddle boards, fishing equipment, clothing, beach accessories, sun protection and your favorite beverages are just some of NGO’s offerings to make your outsider experience enjoyable.
